Last night I uploaded a slightly buggy version of the Devil Summoner Compendium, it has the base information that should do for now. Thanks to Guan from MegatenGaku for translating all of the skills for me. Thanks to him I was able to get this compendium uploaded in about 2 days; had he have not translated the skills in such a complete manner, I would have been doing this all week. One thing to note: I haven't updated the tables to show element resistance for Devil Summoner yet, but they do exist and you can expect in the coming hours.
Throughout this week I will finally be fixing up all the missing and inaccurate info from the previous compendiums. In truth, I didn't think I would ever upload a compendium past SMT1, but I've learned a few things since then, and now have a pretty healthy process to batch edit and upload everything I need to complete a compendium. Of course, when I run these processes I do so with the belief that they will work exactly how I want it to, but I'm afraid to say that isn't always the case. I've been pretty busy the last little while, so I haven't been able to double check every enemy page and make sure all the interdependencies sync up under a specific page. Any error that you spot, please contact me, it helps a ton.
What I did do though, is rewrite the table code for the compendium entries, so now it is a fixed width, and looks little more clean and professional. Previously, unused rows would display if a demon had less skills than the maximum, so I've fixed that for good now.
I have a long way to go to log (mostly) everything, but with these first few steps I believe that it is a goal that really can be reached. I'll say it again, if you want to help out with compendium logs, please contact me, I would be more than grateful for the help. Also, if anyone wants my database tables so they can edit the Wiki(or anything really), please contact me and I will fix up a nice excel file for you. The reason I don't inject it straight into the wiki is because I don't have the patience to manually insert data on a per page basis; with SQL, it's a little easier to manipulate things around.
The Atlus-USA forums are officially closing down this month, this is fairly sad news for anyone that posted there. They are opting out for more social-media based input, namely Facebook and Twitter. I didn't post there much personally, but I've lurked for a good year or so reading all the hilariously irrelevant and inaccurate bullshit, and I honestly will miss it. I'm not much a forum-poster in general, but I think it was one of the few last SMT communities and there was a lot of interesting information about their localization process, and general information right from the the translation teams mouth. For this reason, I've made an archive on that board because I have learned that trusting way-back-machine is a bad idea. You can access this archive here: http://www.smt-dds.net/atlus_usa
Note: Please stop PM'ing me about this. This is a simple cache archive, in no way do I have access to your old passwords or personal information. I don't know if you are joking with me, but please for the love of god.
I've also received an email this week about someone opening up their own fan-forum for SMT, that's created by a few SMT-Heralds, namely the frequent editor of the Hardcore Gaming Article on Megaten. They emailed me because they also used the same index name of "DDS-NET"; I'll mention here that a "DDS-NET" isn't exactly a new idea in terms of fan content sites, there are tons of English and Japanese sites associated with the phrase, so don't feel like you need to get my permission or anything. Remember that this site wasis basically one big joke with an obnoxious shrine to Pascal. That being said, you can access their boards at http://dds-net.proboards.com/ . It's currently still under construction, but should be available to sign-up later this week(?). I've also given them a redirect subdomain for easier use, because proboards is a little annoying to type out, you can find that here: http://forum.smt-dds.net . Other than that, I had nothing to do with this board, all credit goes to their respective creators. Creating an managing a forum of active discussion can be very difficult, so I wish them the best of luck on it, and my personal support.
Atlus' first company move under the new Sega empire, is actually pretty good, a North American sale! Various digital Atlus content will be on sale on Steam/PSN/XBL/Eshop this week, this includes the Shin Megami Tensei IV DLC. My personal opinion is that the extra boss DLC is good if you think it's worth the price, but I would llet any cosmetic DLC slide, it's mostly pretty shit unless you really wanna cosplay as Walter WhiteLucifer. Sadly, PSN and eshop content is only on sale in North America, sorry Europeans- you should be used to Atlus treating you like a bastard child by now though.
Thanks to everyone that emailed me in the past week, I've gotten a few requests that I will defiantly consider and put priority on. However, I have received multiple emails detailing two subjects, so I will address them right here:
"Hey, I noticed mail.smt-dds.net. what do I have to do to get my own DSS-NET email address?"
The truth is, I don't think I could ever really manage mass email exchanges, the servers just aren't powerful enough. I only really set the domain up because I am increasing getting annoyed by Gmail and I needed a quick web-based script that I could access the email at. If you really want a DDSNET-email, maybe we can negotiate: First of all, give me a life stone!
"Help! How do you beat beezlebub in Shin Megami Tensei IV?!"
I don't know who the Makai keeps asking me this, but please stop. The truth is, nobody has ever beaten Beezlebub in SMT4, and you need to restart the game and choose a different route(hopefully law). I have received 7 emails asking this specific question in the last 2 days, from various addresses. I believe they are all from the same person because of the grammar and sentence structure. If I am being joked, you did good. If you are serious, for the love of god stop playing the game, and go settle down with a nice Messian girl.
