Suddenly, there is a forum. Hope we can make one hell of a community together!
I've kinda given up on this site the past year but I back to it now that I have a bit more freetime to be messing around with it, I plan on doing a bit of an overhaul code wise. I may also be upgrading servers in a short time, my host is not taking kindly to the ammount of bandwidth I've been using.
Recently, on the 19th, this site turned 1 year old. I can't say I'm overly happy about the state the site is currently in, but it has indeed come a long way. I started this project out as just a simple joke about Pascal, just an image and MP3 file that would captivate SMT1 fans in the most depressing way possible. It didn't start out as an ambitious project, but here we are a year later and the site has grown from nothing into something. Pascal of course will continue to remain as the splash page, and always will as long as I have my say.
I had a large update planned for the site, but unfortunately my internet was disconnected for two weeks prior to the birthday party. I still plan on releasing the update, but it should make the site more complete content wise. Things like OST downloads, wallpapers, more compendiums, info and more. I hope you all enjoy it as I slowly update things in the weeks to come.
That's really all I wanted to say, thank you to everyone that has supported and contributed to the site so far, and I expect an even better year to come!
I've also recruited a user known as Mel616 to start posting Megaten related news, which I think will be a great addition to our content. I'm not entirely sure when she wants to start, but stay tuned regardless because I'm hoping to make this a "go-to" spot for MegaTen news and info.
I was blessed to find that someone had gone ahead and wrote high quality summaries for a handfull of the games. I've uploaded them, so please enjoy!
Working on various compendiums, a lot of them are actually done, but uploading them and configuring the old pages in batch is a very annoying and tedious task, so I neglected it. That being said, Prepare for a boatload of compendiums once I get around to actually adding them.
Been kinda busy lately, mostly with a little side project I'm working on, just to learn a bit of OpenGL.
I'll open up an official site for it if I actually go anywhere with it. I was inspired after replaying Wizardry 6 and 7. Those games are still great, I really wish there was more modern PC dungeon crawlers though. Legend of Grimrock is cool, but I prefer things to be turn based.
I whipped together a fairly simple Strange Journey compendium, which closes of all the mainline games. Yay! Right now it only shows the most basic information, but I hopefully will be able to figure out some of the more obscure variables, such as personality, drops, etc. Right now I feel it's sufficient, as it includes:
Stats (HP, MP, STR, INT, VIT, AGI, LUK)
The skills and their cost/description
It's not great, but it does the job. You may have also noticed all the links on the sidebar that do not work, this is just because I am messing around with the site, trying to add a little more content, and I'm too lazy to edit it locally. It's been a while, but if you would like to help with contributing to anything on the left sidebar, than I would really appreciate it. Right now I'm messing around with Majin Tensei, as well as trying to write a SMT2 Guide(With fancy maps and images), so I'm a little busy. On the topic of guides, if anyone knows the user that goes by Infinity_Dragon, that wrote the HTML based SMT1 guide of Gamefaqs, could you tell him to contact me in regards to hosting that guide? It's a long shot but it doesn't hurt to try.
I'm also slowly writing brief descriptions of the games and uploading them: example. I'll be uploading more of these throughout the week, and I won't be making individual news posts for each one. In the future I hope to expand these little articles to be much more detailed to game mechanics, history, plot, characters, fun facts, etc, but I'll work on short summaries for now.
Oh, I almost forgot! I hope you all have a great Easter!
Oops! Got killed by Nebiros trying to defend my best friend! Try not to feel too bad though, because looks like I was revived to continue my heavenly work!
Seriously though, sorry about that. I let my work fall out of the loop for too long and it was hard to get the motivation to continue. I recently came to be aware that SMTIV EU has been "on hold" for nearly a year, so in honour of that, I've compiled and uploaded the SMTIV compendium, which completes the entire mainline series(par Strange Journey)! There are already a few SMTIV compilations, and fusion searching programs, but I'd figure I'd still take a crack at it. It's not entirely complete, I need to figure out a good way to get the Demon Sprites; it uses a lot of old artwork, mainly from Devil Summoner, so I'm not entirely sure how long it will take to get it all together. I still have a half completed Raidou database which I will work on tonight, so hopefully that goes well.
I don't have much else to report, I'm still waiting on a PC release of SMT1 since it got translated and officially released on iOS(Thanks Sega). Once again, sorry for falling into Makai, I'll try to make up for it as quickly as possible.
